Ray, one of our Founding Partners, created his seminal, values research on the U.S. consumer market and labeled a new emergent subculture of individuals as Cultural Creatives. It's widely agreed among expert observers of the green and sustainability field that Cultural Creatives are the most enlightened leaders dedicated to positive change in the business sector (LOHAS), the opinion leaders on sustainable living, the most sophisticated green consumers, and the most engaged constituents within their communities, government and civil society. Our latest study, “The Potential for a New, Emerging Culture in the U.S. – Report on the 2008 American Values Survey” indicates that Cultural Creatives now represent 37% of American adults, up from 24% in 1996, and they are ready to act, not just talk. Moreover, there is estimated 10% of the U.S. adult population that are "in transition" to adopting Cultural Creative values. This is truly a transformational era for business and society.
